Mumbai: Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play Dalbir Kaur in Omung Kumar’s arriving film
“Sarabjit“, a biopic on a slain Indian restrained Sarabjit Singh and his sister’s onslaught for his release.
Sarabjit, an Indian national, was convicted of terrorism and espionage by a Pakistani probity and condemned to death in 1991 though a supervision had stayed his execution for an unfixed duration in 2008.
Dalbir fought for her brother’s recover from the Lahore jail though her query finished tragically when he died in 2013 following a heartless conflict by associate prisoners.
“The purpose demanded a really clever impression with a powerful aura, and Aishwarya ideally fits a bill. She has given fantastic performances in all her prior cinema and we are assured that she will do probity to this role,” said a writer Sandeep Singh.
“After producing ‘Aligarh‘ and co-producing ‘Mary Kom‘, we realised that content-driven films are my calling which serve encouraged me to take adult ‘Sarabjit‘,” he said.
The film will start sharpened in Punjab this Oct for a release in May 2016.
