Cong continues to occupy Lutyen’s bungalows, pays usually half a marketplace rate as rent

The Congress celebration had been asked to empty a AICC domicile and 3 other Lutyens Bungalows in New Delhi by a Narendra Modi supervision in Feb 2015. It’s been 6 months and a bungalows are  still to be vacated while a celebration members continue to compensate half a marketplace rate as rent.

“According to Directorate of Estates records, monthly lease paid by a Congress celebration ranges between Rs 26,000 and Rs 77,000 per month for a 4 buildings. But a marketplace rate, or what a supervision calls “damage charges,” compulsory to be paid should be Rs 67,000 to Rs 2.33 lakh per month and garden charges.”

The 4 bungalows in doubt are 24 Akbar Road (the AICC headquarters), 26, Akbar Road; 5, Raisina Road and C-II/109, Chanakya Puri.

24, Akbar Road has been a celebration domicile given 1978 while 26, Akbar Road is a bureau of a Congress frontal wing Seva Dal and 5, Raisina Road houses Youth Congress and NSUI(I) offices. The Chanakyapuri bungalow is being used as a residence.
