Mumbai: Sahitya Akademi endowment winning author Kiran Nagarkar on Saturday joined a voices opposite Dadri lynching and other “incidents of intolerance” though blamed Congress President Sonia Gandhi for “paving a way” for Narendra Modi’s ascent as a Prime Minister.
In a spiteful note, he said, “I wish to contend that a Prime Minister should give Sonia Gandhi a Bharat Ratna, since though her help, these people (BJP) wouldn’t have been means to come to power.”
Nagarkar, who perceived a 2001 Sahitya Akademi endowment for his book “Cuckold” (1997), did not gangling Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi from his remarks either.
