New Delhi: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Monday denied charging Rs 6.31 crore to foster a DD Kisan channel, observant he had no agreement with inhabitant broadcaster Doordarshan.
“I wish to state that we have not entered into any agreement with Doordarshan, on a publicity of their channel DD Kisan, and conjunction have we perceived any income from them,” a 72-year-old pronounced in a statement.
“I worked with a promotion group Lowe Lintas on a debate for DD Kisan, and have not entered into any agreement with them either, nor have we perceived any income from Lintas,” he added.
The cine icon, who himself got a rancher tab in 2010 when he bought a land in a Muzzaffarnagar’s encampment Kakori, combined that endorsing a channel was his pro bono act.
“My ‘deliverables’ on this debate have been executed by me many days ago. we work pro bono on several issues and DD Kisan Channel is one of them. If there is any justification or explanation to a contrary, greatfully brazen them to me for verification,” a actor added.
A territory of a media reported that Amitabh charged Rs.6.31 crore to validate DD Kisan, amid suggestions that Lintas had a tough time in removing a luminary to do a campaign.
The public-funded Doordarshan’s Kisan channel was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in May.
