But amidst all of this, a one grant that stands out is that of Viswanathan Anand and his family. The Chennai-based chess player has let a residents of the neighbouring slums into their home, reports The Times of India. 

Anand is not in Chennai now due to the London Chess Classic, though his mother Aruna has been instrumental is providing preserve and food for their flood-affected people neighbours. “Since it was formidable to leave my toddler and aged father-in-law and during home and try out to offer service and assistance, we chose to open a doors to those affected.
