There’s something about Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. They might have other partners in genuine life (and stellar ones during that) though when we put them together in one frame, we can feel their chemistry sitting in a table all a approach in your offices.
It’s this accurate chemistry that was a favourite in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and it’s a same chemistry that is disfigured around dual opposite characters this time in Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha.
In a trailer, Ranbir Kapoor’s impression Ved meets Mona Darling (Deepika Padukone) in lost France, and he falls for her free-spirited inlet (no surprises there). Everything is spacious and fun while a dual of them are in Corsica, amid laughs, songs and pleasing scenic backgrounds.
But on returning behind to reality, Ved earnings to his routine, and that’s when a cracks seem in their relationship.
It’s a story we’ve all listened before, and that is something Imtiaz Ali acknowledges in a trailer. “Why always a same story?” it asks.
Perhaps Tamasha is trying to decode relationships. And what improved approach than to have ex lovers to do so? It’s a actors’ personal past that presumably brings that additional corner to their performances. Either that or Imtiaz Ali usually brings out a best in both actors.
Meanwhile, we usually get to hear strains of AR Rahman’s music, that is a bit of a travesty. Tamasha is set to recover on 27 November.
