Mumbai: A cake with a picture of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) personality Asaduddin Owaisi was cut during a celebrations to symbol a birthday of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) arch Raj Thackeray in Mumbai on Tuesday, evoking a clever greeting from a Hyderabad-based party.
Thackeray was greeted by his supporters during his chateau ‘Krishna Kunj’ during Dadar in Central Mumbai, where some supporters brought a cake with Owaisi’s picture on it and cut it.
The movement drew defamation from AIMIM, whose MLA Waris Pathan demanded movement opposite those who cut a cake.
Earlier in Mar this year, Asaduddin Owaisi had pronounced that he will not intone ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ even if a blade was put to his throat, as reported by The Hindu.
Owaisi done a criticism in response to RSS arch Mohan Bhagwat’s idea that nationalism be instilled in a younger era by training them to intone a slogan, hailing ‘Mother India’.
Raj Thackeray, a firebrand Maharshtra personality had afterwards targeted Owaisi on this statement.
“Come to Maharashtra, we will put a blade to your throat,” a MNS arch had said, Thackeray was quoted as observant in a NDTV report.
